Kick - The Agency for LGBT African Americans hosts a cruise for Detroit's dynamic LGBT community. Kickin’ It on The River will be held Wednesday, July 21 aboard the Diamond Queen Riverboat in beautiful Downtown Detroit, during Hotter Than July! Boarding begins at 6:20 pm.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.e-kick.org. Renowned house music DJ, DJ Cent will provide the music. A strolling buffet will be included in this 3-hour cruise along the Detroit River.
Hotter Than July! (HTJ), held in Detroit, is the Midwest's oldest black LGBT pride celebration and this year is the 15-year anniversary. Kick’s executive director, Curtis Lipscomb, is a founder of HTJ. HTJ strives to provide affirming weeklong events, while partnering with metro Detroit organizations. In celebration of HTJ's 15-year anniversary, Kick brings the celebration to one of the city’s gems, Detroit’s riverfront.
Kick – The Agency for LGBT African Americans’ mission is to increase awareness of and support to Detroit's dynamic LGBT culture through education and advocacy with integrity and pride. We offer free programs and services available to both the LGBT community and the allied community. Funding is provided by grants, donations and by our members, the Friends of Kick.
Sponsorship levels vary from $100 to $1,000 and are available for Kickin’ It on The River.
